Cannon Construction, Inc. was established in April 1996, as a general contractor by Steven and Linda Norstad. Cannon Construction, Inc. specializes in new residential and commercial construction, Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction, additions, renovations, custom cabinets and intricate millwork.

Steve has over 35 years of experience in the building industry. He has worked in every aspect of the building process including: laborer, carpenter, foreman, job supervisor, estimator and project manager. His desire to provide high quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and pleasant working relationships prompted him to start his own business.

Cannon Construction, Inc. won Second Place in the 2005 Minnesota Building Excellence Award Competition sponsored by the Aggregate and Ready Mix Association. The award was in the Residential ICF category for a home Cannon Construction built in Northfield, MN.

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are Polystyrene foam sheets that are held together by ties. The cavity that is created is filled with concrete. The result is a solid concrete wall that is insulated on each side with Polystyrene foam. Cannon Construction, Inc. uses Phoenix System forms. The strength of their tie makes them the leader in the industry.

Cannon Construction, Inc. has been building ICF-formed concrete basements since 1996. In 2002, we built our first all-concrete home. Since that time, we have been using this technology in residential and commercial construction.

Phoenix has taken Insulated Concrete Form technology to a new level. At the center of the ICF is the tie. It is what holds the two sheets of Polystyrene foam together. The cavity that is created is filled with concrete during the construction process. The result is a superior wall that is insulated by expanded polystyrene providing two built in layers of foam insulation. Concrete, the center of the wall, is the most proven building material available.

The tie system designed by Phoenix is what makes them the leader in the industry. Their tie is stronger than any other tie on the market.

Cannon Construction, Inc. has experienced, skilled craftsmen and a full line of millwork equipment. Custom cabinets, trim, crown molding, mantels, fireplace surrounds and countertops are all available. Our attention to detail is evident in the beauty of the finished products.
